Steps to reproduce :
1. Set path to jdk1.3.1 with engg. build (37, on 1113) of hotspot server VM
2. cd /net/sqesvr/export/GammaBase/Bugs/{BugID}
3. ksh doit.ksh

Output :
java version "1.3.1ea"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1ea-b07)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build product+1.3.1+ladybird_baseline+compiler2+20001113-121523-release, compiled mode)

(Hangs here)
The test hangs with Xcomp mode on "deathstarvm" which is Pentium-III 550 MHz machine and happens consistently. Does not happen with -Xint mode or on other linux machines.
