Tested with jdk1.4 beta_42 on WinNT, Win2000 and Win98 Japanese.

Monospaced characters' style is always plain.
Bold, Italic and BoldItalic can not be applied to Monospaced characters.

This problem is seen in beta_40 also.

      To reproduce,

      1. Excute Font2DTest ($JAVAHOME/demo/Font2DTest/Font2DTest.jar) on Windows Japanese.
      2. Select "Monospaced" from Font menu.
      3. Slect Bold, Italic and BoldItalic from Style menu.

Then, you can see characters are always in plain style.

      ------
      Tested with jdk1.4 beta b44.

I saw the difference between Italic/BoldItalic and non Italic/non BoldItalic clearly. But there seem to be a problem between Plain and Bold, Italic and BoldItalic. I didn't find all characters (4e00 - 4ef0) turned into Bold. For example: only

      4e02, 4e04, 4e05, 4e0c, 4e12, a part of 4e1f, 4e23, 4e24, 4e2b, 4e2e, 4e2f, 4e30, 4e35, 4e40, 4e41, 4e44, 4e47, 4e51, 4e5a, 4e5c, 4e63, 4e68, 4e69, 4e74, 4e75, 4e79, 4e7f, a part of 4e8d, a part of 4e97, a part of 4e9d, 4eaf, 4eb9, 4ec3, 4ed0, 4eda, 4edb, 4ee0, 4ee2, a part of 4ee8, 4eef

seemed bold. But others didn't change into Bold even thought you set them into Bold from Plain.
