"java -version" crashes Merlin HotSpot on SuSE Linux 6.4 (i386)

       The attempt to get version of Merlin JDK (build 1.4.0beta-b42) on SuSE Linux 6.4 leads to JVM crash.

      Below is the output of "java -version" on RedHat 6.2 and on SuSE 6.4:
