The attached JApplet leaks memory when run with Windows NT 4.0 SP 6, IE 5 and Java Plugin 1.3. The problem also reproduces with Netscape 4.04 and with
appletviewer.
To reproduce the problem load CCCCSunApplet.html within a browser and
reload the applet a couple of times. While reloading the applet,
observe the Memory Usage for the process within the Task Manager and
the Private Bytes of the process within the Performance Monitor. You
should see the Private Bytes increase. On some systems you will also
see the Memory Usage increase.
I have tried the test case using 1.3.0_01 on Windows NT, and on Solaris 8
with Netscape 4.7 and the problem still occurs.
