      there is code both in make/Makefile, make/common/Defs-*.gmk and which validates
      ARCH_DATA_MODEL against the OS type, and code in make/tools/sanityck which
      validates ARCH_DATA_MODEL against the Solaris release version.

      There should be one place where all checks are validated.
