        java version "1.3.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0-C)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0-C, mixed mode)

When using the new 1.3.0.01 version of the plug-in, it displays loading
progress messages for applets. When combining signed jar files & caching, the
        # of lines quickly increases. When the # of lines exceeds the room to display
them, there is a very annoying, strobe like scrolling action. The text is
        completely unreadable.

Please do one or more of the following:
        1) cut down the detail to reduce the problem quantatively.
        2) give a param option to somehow control it.
        3) make the scrolling work right.

This is easy to reproduce, just add some jar files to any applet tag. My
application uses the ones for JSSE. A simplified version of the html page
        (without <, >'s) is:

        APPLET CODE = "myJApplet.class" ARCHIVE = "my_client.jar, jcert.jar, jnet.jar,
        jsse.jar"

        PARAM NAME = CACHE_ARCHIVE VALUE = "my_client.jar, jcert.jar, jnet.jar,
        jsse.jar"
        PARAM NAME = CACHE_OPTION VALUE = "Plugin"

        PARAM NAME="type" VALUE="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3"
        PARAM NAME="scriptable" VALUE="false"

        /APPLET
