When installing JDK1.3.0_02 the jre is not installed in the javasoft\jre dir.
As a consequence the java.exe in C:\windows still calls the old java
installation (jdk1.3.0_01).
The installer does display a message that it is setting up the java runtime
environment, which does take quite some time. Strange that it can't be found
afterwards.

I downloaded installing file j2sdk-1_3_0_02-win.exe successfully. Then I
started to install it. After finishing copy files to hard disk, screen
displayed "Setting up Java 2 Runtime Enviroment, Please wait...". But then the
program was stucked. After 10 minutes, still the same screen.

I don't know what is the reason. The installing is automatic, it doesn't need
me to input anything except the installing directory: jdk1.3.0_02. So I don't
think I did anything wrong. I wonder if you can give me some advice.
