On Windows NT, with Internet Explorer, the JRE/plugin 1.3.1 has the following
two problems:

1. An applet converted with HTMLConverter 1.3.1-beta does not kickstart the
   JRE 1.3.1 (beta, rc1-21, or the fcs-bin-b24), cf.

   But An applet converted with HTMLConverter 1.3 starts the java console, cf.
     http://istserver.eng/jai/autoinstall/JAIAppletDemo_auto_w2.html
  
2. The auto-install of a standard extension (JAI) on NT pauses until the OK
   button is clicked; And also right after the clicking, the applet starts
   without waiting for the installation to finish, resulting in
   NoClassDefFoundErr. Restarting is needed to have the applet working, cf.

   This problem seems to go away with IE 5.5 SP1.
