This problem occurs on Windows platforms.

Steps to Reproduce:

1) Launch BrowserTestSuite in IE5 from javaweb.eng/~edlou/BrowserTestSuite/Suite/QLindex.html
on any Windows system (Win2000 / WinNT4 sp6 / WIn98 SE).
2) Launch the WordApplet by clicking on the link "WordApplet(7)" under "Other Quicklook Applets".
Make sure not to launch "2 Applet Test(2)" before launching the WordApplet.
3) Browser freezes after the WordApplet is launched.

Whereas the same applet works fine on NS4.x.

WordApplet used to work fine with Merlinb61 on IE5.
