been there for a while, but the (unused) DEVTOOLS_PATH default value
for linux is /java/devtools/$(ARCH)/bin which resolves to
/java/devtools/i386/bin -- the solaris-i386 tools area.

Instead of the correct /java/devtools/$(PLATFORM)/bin which will resolve
to /java/devtools/linux/bin
