steps to reproduce -
1. Install jre1.4 beta-refresh build (build 1.4.0-beta_refresh-b63a).
2. set the NPX_PLUGIN_PATH appropriately.
3. Execute the RSA test case from -
http://sqesvr.eng.sun.com/deployment1/ws/doc/proc/JPI_RSA.html
4. Disable the " Object Signing Support " by having the following .java.policy in your $HOME -
grant {
permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "usePolicy";
};
5. To verify, download the applet from -
http://sqesvr.eng.sun.com/deployment1/ws/tests/func/RSA/Verisign.html
6. The applet grants permission. It is supposed to deny access with following message
"Caught security exception: access denied
(java.util.PropertyPermission)"
7. The problem occured on the following configurations-
Solaris 9 (build 38), NS 4.75
Solaris IA 9 (build 38), NS 4.73.

This problem is occurring with the following OS and browsers for merlin beta-refresh build 68.
OS - win 95 and Linux Redhat 7.1
browsers - IE 4.0 and NS 4.75
###@###.###
this problem still occurs with merlin-beta3 build81.
OS -Win XP
Browser: IE6.0/NS4.77/NS6.1
###@###.### 10/05
Please disregard my earlier evaluation.
Validated the same on other Win-XP machines.
This time however there was no additional certificate popups.
Seems to work as indicated.
I do not have the original test machine at my disposal.
Will re-check as soon as it is available and re-check it with build 82.
Will keep this bug closed, and re-open on further verification
