      Name: tn108358 Date: 06/07/2001

      java version "1.3.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0-C)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 2.0fcs-E, mixed mode)

With jws 1.01. When the application is not calling System.exit() or if there
is a run-time exception, javaw is hanging in memory and will not go away. It
happened on both win2k and nt. Whenever the javaw is still hanging, java web
start will not allows update to occurred (apparently the resouces are still
opened). Once this happened, even if I manually kill all the javaw
process, the next launch of the web start runs but running with the old code.
I have to touch the distribution again to make sure it will be updated.
       Will this be fixed?

      thanks.
