drawArc() no longer draws smooth arcs or circles as in JDK1.3
by default. 1) the line patterns look dashed in JDK1.4 and
solid in JDK1.3 2) the algorithm used to draw the circles
is flawed and only crudely approximates an arc or circle.
It looks like a weaving polygon...
