JDK-2109486 | 1.4.1 | Steve Bohne | P3 | Resolved | Fixed | 1.4.1 |
When uninstalling the Merlin JDK on Windows 95 only after uninstalling the JRE and the JDK, the 3rd item to uninstall is Java Web Start. After selecting it in the Add/Remove items dialog, it displays an error dialog which is titled "Error Deleting File" and reads "Cannot delete WINDOWS\: Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the current path and filename". This occur with Windows 95B on machine NANCYS.
After the dialog is dismissed by the OK button, it finished the deletion and gives a Success dialog. After dismissing that with the OK button, you'll notice that Java Web Start is still in the list of installed items in the Add/Remove Items program.
This bug has been present for many builds now.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Install the Merlin JDK.
2) Start to uninstalled the JDK using Add/Remove programs in the Control Panels. Uninstall the JRE and JDK.
3) Start to uninstall Java Web Start.
RESULT: During the unistalling of Java Web Start the bug will present itself.
