MicroStrategy Java XML API crashes under stress on a dual processor Windows
NT Server due to an Access Violation in the JRE 1.3.x. This problem does not
exist in JRE 1.2.2 or JRE 1.3 in interpreted mode. We were able to reproduce
this crash outside of the Java XML API with a simple test case. Also we were
able to reproduce the crash with the simple test case on both single and
dual processor Windows NT Servers.
The word document av_report.doc explains the problem in more details. It
provides the stack trace as noted by JRE 1.3.1. It also describes a simple
test program that reproduces this situation outside of the Java XML API.
The source code for the simple test program is found in AVTest.java. The
Test_README.txt explains the command line parameters for the simple test
program. Note that the testFile serves as an input to the AVTest.java.
