The problem description is same as bug-id: 4460631.
I tested with build 70 of jre 1.4 and the problem STILL exists in
latest merlin release. (JRE 1.4 Beta-Refresh build 70)
The memory usage of IEXPLORE.EXE as shown in Task Manager shoots
over 40MB (Initial 19.5MB), while the java heap in Java Console (m)
stays around 15692k (Initial 1984k).
Kronos is interested in the memory growth of *non java-heap* and would
like a fix. (difference between 40MB of IEXPLORE.EXE and 15.6MB of Java heap)
Problem Description from Moneyline:
-----------------------------------
Yesterday, we noticed that a
browser left running on, say, the "Equities" page would show consistently
increasing memory usage in the task manager. Under the new JRE this
morning, one of my colleagues left it undisturbed until the IE task was
reporting 80Mb at which time the browser simply closed without any further
error messages.
