Since jdk1.4 the class javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalProgressBarUI no longer
overrides the method paint(java.awt.Graphics,javax.swing.JComponent). This
results in a fact that the documented behavior for
MetalProgressBarUI.paint() method has been changed.

It seems no CCC request has been submitted in respect to this API change.
Please submit one so this change is formally tracked, or if this change
has ever been approved by the CCC, then please provide the CCC proposal
number.
