Pasted from 4492541:
From time to time, keyboard navigation fails completely.
1. Start SwingSet2 (java -jar SwingSet2.jar)
2. Press Alt-L to bring up the Look & Feel menu
3. Press 'o' for Motif, or 'w' for windows
After the look and feel changes, no keyboard navigation works: arrow keys, tab,
F10. No workaround found.
I have seen this occur in other circumstances, this is just the easiest way to reproduce the problem.

To reproduce this problem in build 76, on Windows 2000:
1. Start SwingSet2 (java -jar SwingSet2.jar)
2. Switch to the windows look and feel
(F10 to get to the menu bar, in the "Look and Feel" menu, choose
"Windows Style..."
Wait for it to finish switching
3. Press Alt-Tab to switch to any other application
4. Press Alt-Tab to switch back to SwingSet2
5. Press F10 to activate the menu bar
6. Press arrow keys and escape key
The arrow keys do not navigate the menus, and the escape key does not dismiss the menu (they should).
I can find no way to recover and make the keyboard start working again.
