      The StringBuffer.<init> was faster on 1.3.1 than on 1.4, see the attachment.

          BT2:EVALUATION

            This bug contains far too little information to evaluate it. On what platform did the regression occur? What was its magnitude? If there is a problem, it is probably in the VM and not the libararies, as the library code for StringBuffer has not been changed recently.
