      Name: md23716 Date: 09/04/2001

      1. Basic Info:

      1.1 Platform (Solaris / Win32):

      Solaris

      1.2 Operating System Level/Version:

      5.7

      1.3 Specific Sun Release Information:

      1.3.0_02

1.4 Known existing SUN Bug ID's (If Any):

      None

      2. Workarounds:

Use Solaris 8, but not feasible for customer.

      3. Test Case and Failure Data

      3.1 Unexpected results:

Customer is running Solaris 7 in ko locale and says that Hanguel strings (which include space characters between words) are displayed strangely in the AWT TextArea. Apparently there is too much space between the words.

This system has all the patches and font packages as listed in JDK README.

Testcase (compile with "-encoding MS949") is available but must be emailed to prevent loss of Korean characters.

      4. Targeted FCS Release

      1.3.0_05 (if not Solaris problem)
