Japanese input is not accepted on Red Hat Linux

      Reproduction:

      1. Extract the attached test case.
      2. Execute it in ja_JP.eucJP locale.
         % cd awt/classes
         % java awttest -command XXX
      3. Turn Input Method on pressing Shift+SPACE.

      Input Method never be activated on any input areas.
      This is reproducible on RHL7.1J.
