Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-beta2-b77, mixed mode)

When I set my mouse to be a "left-handed" mouse in the Windows 2000 Control
Panel, I can position the cursor in a JTextPane with the "left" mouse button,
but I have to drag with the "right" mouse button held down to highlight text.
When the mouse is a "right-handed" mouse, the behavior is correct (clicking
with "left" mouse button positions the cursor, dragging with "left" mouse
button highlights text). The behavior in JDK 1.3.1 is correct for a left-
      handed and right-handed mouse.
