in jdk 1.4 beta 3 while an applet is loading a progress bar is displayed, with
some information about which class is being loaded. this information is useful
for a developer, however the end user don't need it, unless an error is
generated. so why don't you put there an animated java logo (like the coffee
cup) ? it is prettier and can be considered like a free advertisement. i think
that the java brand must be under the eyes of all users!
