The Advanced tab of the Java Plug-in Control Panel shows dupicate versions of the same JRE in the Java Runtime selection drop-down menu; and when two different versions are installed (e.g., 1.3.1 and 1.4) and the earlier version is selected, then both Netscape 6.1 and IE 5.0 will crash. This occurs when going to a URL that specifies the newer version.

IE says "Runtime error ... abnormal program termination"; Netscape get "Java 1.4 Fatal Error."

This was runt on Window NT 4.0 with 1.4 Beta 3 and 1.3.1 FCS.
