typing a long line of text in notepad causes the text to disappear

      Bring up notepad and type 'asdf ' over and over, at about the 17th time you type this, text disappears.
      This is with build 89 on NT or 98, I couldn't get it to happen on Solaris (I gave up at about the 50th 'asdf ').
