    Description

The mail conduit window for the java application sdtpdasync move to the upper left of their original position each time they are made visible in the sawfish window manager.

      To reproduce:
      SunOS puncher 5.9 s81_54 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
      $JAVA_HOME=
temporarly mv or rm java1.2 so that applications use java 1.4

      java -version gives:
      java version "1.4.0-rc"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-rc-b89)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-rc-b89, mixed mode)
Login to GNOME and make sure the sawfish window manager is selected.
Select Crux for your sawfish theme with a fixed font and "decorate dialog windows similarly to application windows."

      sdtpdasync
(The application window will hop to the upper left corner of the screen)
      move the sdtpdasync application window
Select conduits->mail and click the bottom left button with two check marks "change the conduit settings"

The conduits setting dialog will appear

Click the "change the conduit settings" button again.

The conduits setting dialog will disappear

Click the "change the conduit settings" button again.

The conduits setting dialog will reappear to the upper left of the original each time it is made invisible then visible.

If I changed the default window positioning options with "try" while sdtpdasync
was running, the mail conduit dialogs would stop moving until I exited and
restarted sdtpdasync. Then the creeping to the upper left would continue.
The problem no longer occurs with currently shipping JDS (GNOME 2.0+) products. Sawfish was removed from gnome.
