This RFE tracks the required inclusion of a reasonable and useful subset of
Asian character encoding/character coded set support in 1.4.1 using the
new NIO charset API. It is intended to provide a subset as an optional
(full i18nJ2RE release) bundled Charset provider collection likely to
include support for the following encodings:
- Japanese: MS932, EUC-JP, SJIS, EUC-JP-LINUX, ISO-2022-JP
- Chinese/Simplified: MS936, GB18030, EUC-CN, GBK
- Korean: MS949, EUC-KR, ISO-2022-KR
- Chinese/Traditional: MS950, EUC-TW, Big5, Big5-HKSCS
