Problem occurs only on Windows 2000, Japanese version (or NT 4.0). Must be Japanese. If I display rotated text, in any font (even Roman), Windows will crash. The setup is quite arcane, sequence must be precise.
1. Reboot OS. Only occurs if the sequence is followed after the first boot.
2. Launch a native application that will display the font, but does not do so yet.
3. Launch a Java application or applet and display rotated text.
4. Display exactly the same text in the native application, and it will render inccorrectly (garbage). Java code works just fine.
5. Proceed in the native application and it will crash and/or blue-screen Windows.
