Ugly or unreadable characters are displayed when using Java's logical font name
with bold, italic, or bold+italic style. Just one problem in JRE seems to be
causing this behavior, but severity is different for different languages.

"characters unreadable" : Korean, Traditional Chinese
        "display quality unacceptable" : Japanese
        "ugly characters" : Simplified Chinese

        * This problem started in JRE 1.3.0. (JRE 1.2.2 doesn't have this problem.)
        * This problem happens on both Solaris and Windows.
        * This problem happens for Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
        * This problem happens for Java's logical font names.
        * This problem happens for bold, italic, and bold+italic styles. (Plain style doesn't have this problem.)

I provided many image files to Sun (image files that show the problem when using
JRE 1.3.1, and image files that don't show the problem when using older JRE).
Image files for Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese
        are provided to Sun.

I have to clarify what this bug is NOT talking about.
When using Java's logical font names with bold style, some versions of JRE
display characters of some languages in bold, some other languages in plain.
This "bold style ignored" problem is NOT what I'm reporting in this bug.
To make things clearer, below are what I can tell about "bold style ignored" problem.
As you can see, "bold style ignored" problem is clearly a different problem
        from the problem explained above.

        * "Bold style ignored" problem existed before JRE 1.3.0.
        * "Bold style ignored" problem doesn't happen for Japanese in JRE 1.3.1.
