JDK-2051696 | 1.4.1_02 | Devananda Jayaraman | P1 | Resolved | Fixed | 02 |
JPI is compliant with versioning scheme specified under
http://javaweb.eng/release/versioning.html?
Currently Java Product Sustaining Engineering (JPSE) produces
update releases every three months after each J2SE FCS release.
If there's a need to provide interim release with few bug fixes
between these update release schedule currently versioning is
restricted to two digit minor number. Given that sustaining update
releases are scheduled quite in advance and are meant for multiple
bug fixes for customer escalated issues on wide variety of platforms,
we need to have a mechanism that enable us to distinguish update
releases from interim update releases for limited platform such as
windows only or solaris only.
Introduce new versioning support for Java Plugin to support
intermediate releases in update release trains.
Enhancements is intended to be incorporated in 1.4.0_01
