The problems are:
When I run demo with jar option by using hopper b02, I got:

" %bin/java -jar demo/jfc/Java2D/*.jar
Feb 13, 2002 11:05:08 AM java.util.prefs.FileSystemPreferences$3 run
INFO: Created system preferences directory in java.home. "

That behaviour is different with merlin.
And if the hopper runtime can create system preferences, the second time you would not get the info, but if it cannot create the system preferences, you will get warning when you using the runtime.
