Red Hat Linux release 7.2 (Enigma)
LANG=ko_KR.eucKR
A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Currently, RedHat 7.2/7.1k and their various localized
versions are the most widely used linux distribution in Korea.
From 7.1k, RedHat made Baekmuk font (you can download it
from ftp://ftp.mizi.com/pub/baekmuk/) default font for
Korean locale. But JRE/JDK on linux from Sun lacks
font.properties.ko so, every Korean Java users and
developers who use linux platform had to copy from some
local linux related sites their own version of
font.properties.ko.
Please include default font.properties.ko at least for
RedHat distribution. Japanese users already have 4 different
versions of font.properties.ja file packaged in default
JDK/JRE from Sun. I can't persuade our customers that they
should download JRE, make some soft links, run ttmkfdir,
copy font.properties.ja to font.properties.ko and edit it
themselves just to run simple swing application!
Thanks.
This bug can be reproduced always.
