There are too many places where release-specific version strings are
used in the build. These should be defined is one place and used
throughout the build.

For the version number,
    JDK_{MAJOR,MINOR,MICRO,UPDATE}_VERSION
should be used. These have (or will have in the case of JDK_UPDATE_VERSION)
override support.

For other strings the default values should be stored in one place, and
should be overridable from the command line, requiring support in the
control as well as the j2se workspaces
