As a part of splash screen(new hopper feature) default behaviour not working as advertised. By default whenever mouse points at gray box area ,message "Loading Java Applet.." should appear in the browser's status bar but nothing is showing in browser's status bar.
If progress bar is on than the same default message should appear above the
progress bar & also in browser's status bar whenever mouse points at gray box
area. well in this case again nothing is showing in browser's status bar while
the default messsage is coming above the progress bar in the gray box.
If custom message is there than everything works fine i.e message always comes up in the browser status bar whenever mouse points at gray box area

Steps to reproduce the problem :

1) Run any of the following applets http://sqesvr.sfbay.sun.com/deployment2/jitu/splashscreen/html/Alldefault.htm
http://sqesvr.sfbay.sun.com/deployment2/jitu/splashscreen/html/AlldefaultAppletTag.htm

2) Point the mouse to the gray box while applet downloading in progress. If message "Loading Java Applet.." doesn't appear in the browser's status bar then the bug is reproduced.
