TEST CASE:
Running special Install test case of Installing hopper(JDK) on a machine with insufficient disk space (with repair).
PLATFORM : Win-XP Home. Reproduced in Win-XP Prof, Win 2000 Prof & Win 98 SE.
BUNDLE: JDK - Hopper beta-b14
PROBLEM:
When there is an intial disk space of 5 MB, installer complaines with a dialog box saying that a minimum of 35MB is required.
On freeing up diskspace to 75-100 MB, it proceeds with the install(repair). The installation proceeds without any problem (no error message).
But JRE (in c:\program files\java), JAWS and plugin are not installed. Only the JDK is installed.
Two different scenarios were encountered after the installation.
1.
There is a "c:\program files\java\j2re1.4.1" directory with just the "lib" folder. other folders/files are missing.
There are registry entries for the plugin & JRE.
In the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE//SOFTWARE//JavaSoft//Java Plug-in", the sub-key : UseJava2IExplorer has a value "-iexplorer -netscape6"
There is no plugin icon in control panel and the demo's fail.
2.
In the 2nd scenario, the "c:\program files\java" directory(& sub folders) are not present.
There are no Registry entries for Plugin & JAWS. There is a
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE//SOFTWARE//JavaSoft//Java Runtime Environment" key, which is empty.
There has not been any specific pattern for the above 2 scenarios. but irrespective of that, the JRE, Plugin & JAWS are not installed. There is no plugin icon and the demo's fail.
