Steps to reproduce -

Install jdk hopper build-14

Run the GraphLayout plugin demo that comes bundled with the jdk.

Stress and Random buttons are not working.

This problem does not occur if the applet is invoked using appletviewer.

These buttong work fine on NS4.75 on the same OS.
It works fine on Linux and Windows/NS6.2.2
