A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The documentation for the Hotspot deadlock detector that
was introduced in version 1.4.1 states that to activate it,
one must type ctrl-\ This is true for Solaris but not for Windows where it is
necessary to type ctrl-break or ctrl-scroll down
ctrl-\ has no effect at all on Windows.
The documentation and web site should be modified to
reflect this.

3.Try on any Windows system
EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
When I typed ctrl-\ I expected to activate the deadlock
detector
ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
Nothing so long as the program was running, then:
^\ : no such command (or words to that effect)
REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
CUSTOMER WORKAROUND :
Post desperate messages on various forums
