Currently, the Sun Solaris Java SDKs do not support the 33722C codepage.
This codepage is a commonly used codepage in the Japanese market and is a modification of the 33722 codepage that is supported in the Sun Java SDK 1.3.1 release.
The 33722C codepage is supported by all the IBM Java SDK 1.3.1 releases and is used in conjunction with many IBM Java software applications in the Japan marketplace.
Not providing this function on the Sun Solaris Java SDKs will inhibit sales of middleware on the Solaris platform in the Japan marketplace.
IBM can provide details of the 33722C codepage to Sun if required.
