Name: dk106046 Date: 07/03/2002
java version "1.4.0_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0_01-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0_01-b03, mixed mode)
------------
In Windows, select the "High Contrast Black" color scheme (under
Display Properties -> Appearance). Now run the SwingSet2 demo and
select the Windows Look and Feel. Various visual problems exist under
this environment:
1. Disabled menu text is light green, not grey and in bold as it is
with native apps.
2. The background color of selected toolbar icons does not change. For
example, compare with the Search bottom in Internet Explorer - when
selected the background goes grey (stiple effect).
3. JSlider controls appear the same whether enabled or disabled -
compare with the Windows Master Volume Control slider - the control
knob is white where disabled, black otherwise.
4. Enabled JSlider knobs do not go inverse while dragging. (I think
this is an inconsistency with the Windows Look & Feel, not just a "high contrast black" problem).
5. Tooltips are quite difficult to read as they are white text with a
black background and a black border, all displayed on a black window
background. Native apps use a white border for tooltips.
