      Name: gm110360 Date: 09/02/2002

      FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
      java version "1.3.1_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1_01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_01, mixed mode)

      FULL OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION :
Mandrake 8.1 i586 build with SMP Kernel

      EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
580 mb Ram, 2x intel pIII processor
1 x matrox g400 dualhead, running in xcinerama mode
      2 monitors

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
It appears that 80% of applications that are run, including
forte and jbuilder do not display graphics in some windows,
or do not paint the entire window.
(whereas normal x binary programs on the system run without
      any troubles)

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
      1.enable xinerama view on matrox g400 (i use 2 x 1024x768)
2.open jbuilder or forte in the first screen - these
products seem to be the worst... possibly because the
display software is more complex (seems to work better on
screen 2 - star office has mangled fonts on screen 2 though
and seems to work okay on screen 1)
3.you should start noticing window display problems

      EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
expeced good window to appear, the same as all my other
      stuff does.

ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
none.... the code doesnt crash, just cant write properly to the x window(s)

This bug can be reproduced always.

      ---------- BEGIN SOURCE ----------
      not applicable
      ---------- END SOURCE ----------

      CUSTOMER WORKAROUND :
disable dualscreens (not really a viable option - jdk + jre
should run okay, all other x programs do)
