This bug is specific to WinXP (Prof) edition. The application works fine on Win2K and Win98. The bug has been there since Merlin and hence it's not a regression.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Launch VolatileDuke app
2. Open Display properties and change the screen saver to say "3D FlowerBox"
3. Most of the time system freezes and I need to reboot the machine. Sometimes, the whole desktop gets messed.

I ran the app by disabling Direct Draw, but the problem is still there.

Machine config:

WinXP (P III, dual processors)
Video card: Matrox Millenium G400, Dual Head
Location: Lab # 2203 (2D SQE)


The application was tested with Merlin FCS, Hopper FCS and Mantis b03 and it fails on all these builds.
It also fails with the update release 1.4.1_01
