Hi:
   java.util.prefs.XMLSupport class uses internal Crimson API. This should be avoided and this class should use JAXP API. Even though this bug falls under java.util package, as we plan to do all the changes at once ( Pending Andrew Bennett's team approval ) , along with the org.apache package name changes, I am filing this under jaxp.
   This can be fixed as part of Mantis itself. But the release value of Mantis is not yet available, so filing this under tiger release.
