Steps to reproduce:
1. Install mantis b05 j2sdk.bin bundle.

2. run Java2D and SwingSet2 demos.

3. The demos dont even come up.
The following error messages are thrown:
For Java 2D Demo:
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0xfa)!

For SwingSet2 Demo:
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x139)!

Nothing happens after the above message is thrown.
Font2D & NotePad demos also dont work.

When running these demos locally or rlogin' from a Linux machine, this problem is observed.
When rlogin from a Solaris 8 machine (x86 & sparc) the demos work file.
