Problem Description : J2SDK installation on Windows fails and throws VC++ Runtime library exceptions

Tested_Java_Release : PIT Build 08 for 1.4.2 (mantis)
Tested_Build : J2SDK.exe
Tested_Build_Location : /net/sqesvr/deployment3/mantis/JPI-PIT-08/build2
Test_Location : Install Tests
Tested_Machine_Name : lemonade 1 , jdsqe-lab1 , dnm-101
Testted O/S : Windows XP, Windows 2000, WIndows 98
Tested_ Browsers : IE / NS
 
Steps to Reproduce :

1.) Install the j2sdk.exe from the above mentioned location
2.) During installation process it throws the "VC++ Runtime library
    exceptions" and installation is aborted.
3.) check the unpack.jar in the temp folder it says

"Unpacking from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\\javaws\javaws.pack to C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\\javaws\javaws.jar
ERROR: Could not open jar file

4.) when checked the zipper.log, it has the following error message

extracting: bin/awt.dllError:fopen: while opening file <bin/awt.dll>

I have attached the following files for further review

This problem is there in the integrated re nightly build of 11-19-2002
Build Location: /net/j2se-build/BUILD_AREA/jdk/jdk1.4.2/bundles/windows-i586/b08-2002-11-19
Bundles : j2sdk.exe, j2re.exe (full bundles)
reproduced in : Windows 2000 Pro & Win XP Pro

As a result of this J2SDK & J2RE installation fails.
