J2SE Version (please include all output from java -version flag):
       java version "1.4.2-beta"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2-beta-b8)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-beta-b8, mixed mode)

Does this problem occur on J2SE 1.3 or 1.4? Yes / No (pick one)
       not a problem using 1.4.1, happens in 1.4.2 (B08)

Operating System Configuration Information (be specific):
       RedHat Linux v8.0, `uname -a`:
       Linux gumnut 2.4.18-18.8.0 #1 Thu Nov 14 00:10:29 EST 2002 i686 i686
       i386 GNU/Linux

      Hardware Configuration Information (be specific):
Compaq Evo N800c with 1Gb ram and oodles of disk

      Bug Description:
Looks like 1.4.2 is not rendering text with same vertical spacing.
See the attached screenshot(ss.gif). All windows on the left are based
on JDK 1.4.1_01, whereas on the right is JDK 1.4.2(b08).

Everywhere text is displayed looks like vertical spacing is much larger
       (looks wrong) in 1.4.2.

It is probably affecting the spacing within JTree - there are two of
       these in each application instance.
