STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Convert the html to load an applet using the option to target version 1.4.XX of the JRE or higher.

2. Attempt to load the applet using IE 6 with an older version of Jre installed


EXPECTED RESULT

You should get a message saying that the required version of Jre is not installed and you should be redirected to the java.sun.com site if you choose to install it.

ACTUAL RESULT

The applet doesn't load and you are not prompted to install Jre

Note - When the same page is loaded using Netscape everything works as expected

We were also able to recreate on a US XP machine so it may be a base bug
