OS - Redhat Linux 8.0
Steps to reproduce -
Install jre rpm package on linux. (rpm -i jre142.rpm)
On SunLinux 5.0 and Redhat 7.3, the Java Plugin Control Panel icon can be located under -
Menu -> Programs -> Settings.
However, on Linux Redhat 8.0, there is no Menu -> Programs -> Settings where to look for the Control Panel icon, and so no Java icon can be seen.

Ideal case, would be to set the Control Panel under a common menu item across flavors of Linux (maybe under GNOME Start Menu).
