Problem Description : Auto scan for JRE with Netscape 7 should be documented.
Tested_Java_Release : Deployment PIT Build 19 (build3) for 1.4.2 (mantis)
Tested_Build : j2re / j2sdk
Tested_Build_Location : /net/sqesvr/deployment3/mantis/JD-PIT-19/windows-i586
Tested_Machine_Name : Windows XP(jd-sqe-lab2) / Windows 2000 (lemonade)
Steps to Reproduce :
1.) Disable NS6 or later option during installation of j2re.exe / j2sdk.exe on
any windows machine.
2.) After installation check to make sure NS6 option is disabled in the JPI
Control panel
3.) Now launch any plugin applet with NS7 and the applet will get loaded using
Sun's j2re.
According to Bill harnois this happens due to the auto scan feature present in Netscape/Mozilla and it should be documented for the mantis release.
