Problem Description : JPI user preferences are not retained during j2re1.4.2 & j2re1.4.2_01 downgrade installation
Tested_Java_Release : Deploymentl PIT Build 20 (build6) for 1.4.2 (mantis)
Tested_Build : J2RE.exe / J2SDK.exe
Tested_Build_Location : /net/sqesvr/deployment3/mantis/JD-PIT-20/windows-i586
Tested_Machine_Name : Windows XP(jd-sqe-lab2) / Windows 2000 (lemonade)/win98
Steps to Reproduce :
1.) Install the 1.4.2 j2re.exe on any windows machine
2.) Update the JPI Control panel with your preferences
Eg: Enable the Show Console
Make sure System tray icon is enabled
Disable IE browser
Enable Auto Java Update
3.) upgrade the jre to 1.4.2_01 using java update mechanism
4.) Now un-install 1.4.2_01
5.) Now 1.4.2 jre would be default
Result : Now open the JPI Control panel and you would see the following differences
a.) Show Java in the System Tray is DISABLED
b.) IE browser is enabled
c.) Auto java update is disabled.
