I was taking a look at the new XP look-and-feel for JFileChooser. It's
mostly very nice.
But there was an annoying "gray smudge" where the New Folder icon should be.
When I bring up the native XP file choser on the same diretcory it shows
a nice colorful "new folder" icon.
After fuitzing around, I realize there are a couple of things going on:
1) For some reason the Swing JFileChooser is "greying out" the New Folder
icon when viewing my "My Documents" folder. The native XP file chooser
isn't doing this and is showing a nice colorful icon.
2) When Swing greys-out the New Folder icon it shows what looks like a
grey blob rather than a greyed-out icon. This is visually very
different from the XP greyed-out New Folder icon.
The regular Swing JFileChooser "New Folder" icon looks fine. The problem
is that the greyed-out icon is unintelligible and it is getting shown
when the regular icon should be shown.
